Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit Indian actress famous for Hum Aapke Hain Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is among the most well-known Indian actors. In the 80s, she began her acting career, and was popular with the role of Tezaab which she played with veteran actor Anil Kapooor. The next film she appeared in was Dil which she starred alongside Aamir. As a young child growing up in Mumbai's middle class she began to learn how to dance. When she was a teen, she began acting and struggled for years due to the fact that her first films were failures. She eventually found success and went on to become one of the most prominent actors in the Indian film industry. After her wedding, she took a career break before reentering the industry. She was a key character in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit has been nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honor in India. The award was also given to her by the field of social work.
