Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on the 20th of August, 1974 in Aviano, Italy). American actress. She is known for her role as naive adorable characters. Adams was among seven siblings that grew up when she was a kid in the city of Castle Rock, Colorado. She was born while her father worked for the U.S. Military in Italy. She began dancing and acting professionally around the middle of the 1990s, with Boulder Dinner Theatre, and later The Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota, she starred in the mock-documentary film Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) which focused on beauty contests. After making her screen debut as a charming but snarky contestant, she moved into Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. From June 1951 until September of 1962, she got engaged to actor Tony Curtis. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh started her career in film following the signing of an MGM deal in the middle of 1940s. Her work was noticed through actress Norma Shearer. The actress portrayed Norma in various popular films throughout time, like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho from 1960 and Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film released in 1954.
